addition and subtraction rules of algebra

I think God must have been in a really bad mood that he came up with something called math to trouble us! I’ve spent days working on this algebra problem which relates to addition and subtraction rules of algebra and I still can’t crack it. I’m particularly having problems with unlike denominators, rational expressions and linear inequalities. Can anyone show me the way on how to go about solving such problems? I’ve tried all ways that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent help now. Anybody?

Most of the information is however designed for the readers who already have some knowledge about this subject. If you are a complete beginner, you should use Algebrator. It’s amazing that a software can perform that. I didn’t expect something like that could be helpful in math. I’m used to be tutored by a teacher but this really sounds promising. Do you have any links for this software?
